BOOOOOOKS
I’ve recently taking to rereading books that I love.
Like, just two days ago, I finished reading John Green’s Looking for Alaska. Right now, I’m half way through another one of his books, Paper Towns. I just get so much delight out of enjoying good stories over again.
I think I’ll keep a working list here. Or at least a list that might become obsolete in a week. ...

Sightsinging
Sightsinging for 20th century music theory is a bit frightening. Today marks the first foray into atonality. In sightsinging. WHAAAAAT?
As Mr. B said, “I will pray.” (Try to say it in your head with an Italian accent. It makes it much more awesome.)

Singing, Playing, and Winning at Life
If I should put more effort into anything, it should be performing. (Sorry, professors, sightsinging doesn’t count as performance.)
So, I’m going to try harder to be a spectacular performer. I want to fly through my piano proficiencies with 9’s and 10’s on everything. I want to wrap up another semester of voice lessons with Dr. T telling me how much I’ve improved....

Musical Frustrations
I am a music education major.
To different people, that means different things—some good, some bad. Some people assume (correctly) that I love music and teaching, so my major suits me well. However, some people assume (incorrectly) that this means I’m not interested in performing.
People get this idea with good reason, I must admit. After all, I myself have heard fellow music ed...

Sometimes I Get Sad...
…And I don’t know why.
Okay, that’s not entirely true. I mean, just tonight I found myself thinking about my breakup that took place approximately a month ago, and I found myself getting upset all over again. Soon, I found myself wondering, “Why do I do this?”
He wasn’t very nice to me, true. He told me a great number of things that were inaccurate, untrue,...

So Compelled By Myself...
I suppose I should do an actual introduction post. So here goes.
My name is Ashley, and, for the most part, that’s what I go by. I’m a sophomore vocal music education major with a Japanese minor at UE, which basically means I have no life. I am a member of the national women’s music fraternity, ΣAI, and UE’s local sorority, ΔΩZ. Both sisterhoods bring me much joy.
